Mictch McConnell sent the message to the rest of Washington to quit expecting him to solve every crisis that takes place in Congress. The Senate minority leader has made it clear that he cannot dictate the outcome in current negotiations taking place now. McConnell suggested that the majority leaders and speakers should engage with each other and come to an agreement as he feels there is not a big role for him as a minority leader. McConnell understands the limitations of his power and sees a partisan leader in Schumer. He criticizes the administration’s response and has faced failure in far-right-wing politics although he is known as one who is effective at process management. Despite his success, he is facing criticism from the new generation of conservative senators. There are disputes over Ukraine and the U.S.-Mexico border and given these disputes, it is unlikely that the security package can be attached to whatever government funding plan passes by Friday.
