Peshawar, Pakistan has been stunned by the escalating violence in the area. Because of the victory of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Pakistani Taliban has experienced a resurgence. The Pakistani leadership had believed the group to be virtually eliminated. However, with attacks intensifying, residents feel that Pakistan is heading for another cycle of violence. Currently, there is a claim that Afghans are joining the ranks of the Pakistani Taliban. In response, Pakistan’s leadership has begun to accuse the Afghan government of not doing enough to control the situation. The increase in attacks has brought a sense of fear and devastation to civilians and members of the security forces.
