According to manager Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham’s James Maddison and Micky van de Ven will both be out of action until the New Year. This adds to an already lengthy injury list for Spurs, with six first-team players already out when they face Wolves on Saturday.

Van de Ven sustained a hamstring injury and Maddison has an ankle problem following their match against Chelsea on Monday. Postecoglou confirmed that both players will miss the rest of the year due to their injuries.

He also stated that Richarlison is expected to be out for a month after undergoing scheduled surgery, while three other players are serving suspensions. With several defenders unavailable, Tottenham will be facing challenges ahead of their upcoming match against Wolves.

Postecoglou expressed concern about the lack of match sharpness for the players who will be coming in as replacements due to the absence of European football this season.

Despite the setbacks, Postecoglou praised the character of Micky van de Ven and expressed confidence that he will come back stronger after his recovery period. He also emphasized the impact of the absences on the team, particularly in the defensive line, and highlighted the disruption caused by missing three out of the four defenders.
