Noren appeared in a good form as he maintained his two-stroke lead at the halfway point of the championship. He carded a bogey-free 66 in the second round, giving him a total score of 15-under and putting him two strokes ahead of Ryan Moore, Ryan Brehm, and Satoshi Kodaira, who are sharing the second place with scores of 13-under.
The tournament saw Alex Noren making an impressive start with birdies on the first three holes at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda. He then managed to maintain his lead with 11 straight pars before securing birdies on the 15th and 17th holes. Noren, who is 41 years old, has 10 career victories but none on the PGA Tour.
Camilo Villegas of Colombia moved into fifth place with an eight-under 63 on Friday, pushing him to 12-under for the week. The cut line was projected at five-under par, with the final few groups finishing their rounds on Saturday morning after play was suspended due to darkness. Sam Bennett, who made waves as an amateur at last April’s Masters before he turned pro, is on track to miss the cut by one shot. Additionally, Oliver Betschart, a 15-year-old amateur from Bermuda, finished his first PGA Tour start at six-over.
