Fox News host Jesse Watters expressed his Islamophobic views on Wednesday, stating that he is fed up with Arab Americans and Muslims.

Amid the ongoing violence in Gaza and the calls for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, there has been a rise in anti-Israel protests on college campuses and cities around the world. These protests have involved tearing down posters displaying hostages held by Hamas terrorists.

The New York Times reported on these incidents, noting that displaying the posters has become a form of activism, drawing attention to the more than 200 hostages seized by Hamas. At the same time, removing the fliers has emerged as another form of protest, reflecting the anger towards the treatment of Palestinians by the Israeli government. This debate raises the question of whose suffering should receive public attention and sympathy.

The New York Times’ framing of the poster-ripping incidents sparked outrage on Fox News, becoming the top story on their show The Five. Watters, in an unhinged rant, criticized Arab Americans and the Muslim world.

He claimed that the West, including Western technology, has played a role in creating the Middle East by extracting oil, protecting oil shipments, funding their military, and respecting their leaders. However, he stated that the West has reached a breaking point with them.

Watters also expressed anger over the October 7 terror attacks and the hostage situation involving Jewish and American people. He seemed to suggest violence as a solution, stating that if someone ripped down posters of these hostages, they would get punched in the face.

He then criticized The New York Times for commodifying suffering and agreed with co-host Greg Gutfeld’s argument that minorities are given special treatment in society.

Watters concluded by stating that the justification of violence in response to suffering has created a society where people are either above or below the law, which he refuses to live in.

Following Watters’ rant, Harold Ford, Jr., the show’s “liberal” panelist, stated that he doesn’t necessarily disagree with Watters’ views.
